A 41-acre shaded nature preserve with walking trails, a disc golf course, kayak launch, and sound access. Perfect for a morning hike or a quiet afternoon away from the beach crowds.

Kayaking Bogue Sound

WATER ACTIVITY
The calm sound-side waters are ideal for kayaking and paddleboarding. Launch from Cedar Street Park or Emerald Isle Woods Park and keep an eye out for dolphins, ospreys, and herons along the way.

Bogue Inlet Fishing Pier

OUTDOORS
A beloved local landmark open seasonally. Cast a line for king mackerel, speckled trout, and red drum, or simply walk out for the views. Surf's Up Grill is right at the base — great for lunch after a morning on the pier.

The Emerald Path

BIKING
An 11-mile paved greenway that runs the length of the island from Indian Beach all the way to The Point. One of the best ways to explore Emerald Isle — rent bikes locally and go at your own pace.

NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores

Just a short drive along Bogue Banks. Touch stingrays, come face to face with sharks, and walk the trails of the Theodore Roosevelt Natural Area. One of the best family attractions on the Crystal Coast.

Fort Macon State Park

A well-preserved Civil War fort at the eastern end of Bogue Banks. Walk through the historic fortification, explore hiking trails with ocean views, and enjoy the park's recreational beach. One of the most visited state parks in NC.
